The sacrament of Matrimony means becoming husband and wife through a sacred covenant with God and each other.
We ask (but don't insist) that you contact us six months before for reservation of the church and time. We also ask that you have pre-cana preparation.
The following write up is intended to make this as easy as possible
at St. Patrick's.
Options are mentioned so that nothing will be overlooked or misunderstood.
Any Catholic couple may be married here.
The church is magnificent, seats 700, has a large organ and a set of
real tower bells.
You may have the Catholic Priest of your choice and a ceremony with
proper decorum.
The Church is handicap accessible from a side door, with driveway, near
the Altar Rail.
This includes the rehearsal, time, lights, sexton and the celebrating
priest.
We will attempt to accommodate any reasonable request.
The Length of the aisle from the front door is 118 feet.
Bows are often placed on every other pew for six pews. (three on each
side.)
The first six pews on each side have cushions. Front section is 15 pews,
rear is 16 pews.
Photography during the ceremony, within reason, is permitted and encouraged.
Please arrange ahead of time, if the Bridal Party will re-enter the
Church for more photos later.
No rice, confetti, flower petals or the like are to be used, inside
or outside.
The cleanup has caused many problems and is regrettably prohibited.
Flowers and Runner - We use Forget-Me-Not Flower Shop at 96 Fifth Avenue
237-5065.
ForgetMeNot@FTDImail.com They have access and will deliver. You may
use another florist, but generally the flowers should be delivered in
the hour or two before the ceremony or by previous arrangement.
Organ - Our organist, Bell Wells 235-4540 usually meets with the bride
& groom and soloists after 10:30 Sunday Mass several weeks prior
to the wedding.
Should you wish your own organist, he/she must also meet with Bill to
go over the the use of our organ.
Chimes - Bill Wells or Joe Connors, at your request, will show you
the chimes and demonstrate how they will sound. They are played by Joe
Connors 235-0411, using appropriate tunes on the limited 12 bell historic
Meneely chime.
Bells may be played before the service, at communion, or after the service.
Your requests and itinerary at the church should be discussed in advance
Rehearsal - usually takes place an evening or two before the wedding.
Father Jones will encourage those who seldom attend church on a regular basis to attend more regularly.
